Ghana's NPA Implements Its National Fuel Monitoring System For The Downstream Petroleum Sector
Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Implements Its National Fuel Monitoring System For The Downstream Petroleum Sector
Speaking at the launch event, Ghanaian Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia said, “An efficient and effective petroleum product distribution system is important and essential to the economic growth of the country. We welcome private sector participation and have charged the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) to collaborate with relevant state agencies to attract the necessary private sector investments in appropriate technology for the sector.”
So if I am a dealer and I want to pay my taxes, I want my revenues and my profits, I will quickly come and enrol on this scheme. If I am an OMC, I ask myself why I am not part. There’s no excuse if you are an OMC, not to be part of that. If I am GRA, I will ensure we all enrol in the next three months, and if I am government, that is the only way I can prevent dumping and bunkering and all these things that we don’t want but we see and feel everyday. So this is a solution, you have to be unpatriotic and probably an illegal illicit person to want not to be part of this solution. So I hope everybody will join hands with NPA to be part of this solution.
